Scarf-maniac
SO I kind of like scarves.
It's the Clapotis! Just thought I'd show how nicely it drapes. This is half width, only 6 increase rows worked, but 9 straight rows worked. I was just halving everything, but 6 straight rows was kind of puny. I love lengthy scarves and would've done all 12 straight rows but Noro Cash Iroha is $$$.
I'm not to down with shawls, I love the idea of them but don't know how they factor into my tom-boyish wardrobe...well, here is how:
Next up is Ruffles from the Pam Allen/Interweave Press book Scarf Style.

Lovely, but it kind of reminds me of a labia. There was a boob scarf at Knitty for their breast cancer awareness supplement so I'm down with this. If I weren't so squeamish I'd kind of like to go into women's health, OBGYN stuff. But last night on Newlywed's Jessica Simpson had Lasik surgery on her eye and I almost hurled.
Cashmerino is amazing, it really makes me knit very slowly and calmly, not at all the way I usually knit. It's shiny too, gorgeous. This scarf looks like a boa. Everyone on the blogs says that it's a slow knit, but this is one skein and it whipped right along. Maybe because I'm using size 7s instead of 6. It involves short rows which are so much easier than I thought.
This also involved short rows, but it turned wavy after about 3 triangles. It's frogged, and becoming another Clapotis!
I'm off to a KNIT-IN for New Year's! Yeah, that's right, my LYS is hosting the event, it's going to be rad.
